Itinerary Overview
Day 1: The Trek Begins (Darchen to Drirapuk)
Hike 20km along the Lha Chu valley. Enjoy the best view of the West Face of Mt. Kailash. Stay at Drirapuk Monastery
Day 2: The Challenging Pass (Drirapuk to Zutulpuk)
he toughest day (18km). Cross the Dolma La Pass (卓玛拉山口) at 5,630m. Wash away sins and descend to the Lake of Compassion. Stay at Zutulpuk.
Day 3: Completing the Circle (Zutulpuk to Darchen)
An easy 14km walk back to Darchen. Celebrate the completion of your pilgrimage (Kora) with our team.
Detailed Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1-3: Arrival in Lhasa & Acclimatization
Arrival at Lhasa Gonggar Airport. Rest at the hotel to adapt to the high altitude (3,650m). Sightseeing: Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, and Barkhor Street. Highlight: Welcome Dinner with authentic Tibetan food.
Day 4-6: Heading West to Everest Base Camp
Drive from Lhasa to Shigatse via Yamdrok Lake and Karola Glacier. Visit Everest Base Camp (5,200m) to see the sunrise over the world’s highest peak. Drive to Saga to prepare for the trip to Western Tibet.
Day 7-9: The Sacred Mt. Kailash Kora (The Trek)
The highlight of the trip! Start the 52km trekking circumambulation around Mount Kailash. (Please refer to the “Itinerary Overview” section above for detailed daily trekking plans).
Day 10-12: Lake Manasarovar & Return Drive
Rest by the holy Lake Manasarovar (Mapam Yumco). Begin the return journey across the vast Tibetan plateau, passing sand dunes and nomadic grasslands back to Shigatse.
Day 13-15: Back to Lhasa & Departure
Visit Tashilhunpo Monastery in Shigatse. Drive back to Lhasa for a final celebration dinner. Transfer to the airport for your flight home.
